You need to share the VLC logs then.

fine, that’s almost the same I am observing. And almost same pattern with 5k player.
How is that surprising since that's an hidden VLC inside

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
If that's AV1 >= 4K or any other codec 8K, that's CPU decoded.
I don't think low power CPU can do this, even with 8 threads.

The downloaded 4k-Youtube-Video "COSTA RICA IN 4K 60fps HDR (ULTRA HD).mp4" start and play for some Secounds, bevor the Image stand and the Audio plays alone.

I tested with "D3D9 Output" in VLC-Player 3.0.11 (64-Bit) and got 100% CPU-Power with 15% GPU-usage.

- Windows 10
- CPU Intel Core i7-9700
- Intel UHD Graphics 630
- 25"-Monitor 2.560×1.440 Pixel
Content is 10-Bit 60 fps AV1.
I highly doubt even 8 full cores from i7-9700 can achieve this in real time

No SIMD for AV1 10bit yet.

No issue then, that can't work.

Hi
Let's focus on issue with AV1 coded mp4 as described in ticket.

Amazing, after download and install the "AV1 Codec" I could play the 4k Video in "Movies & TV" with constantly, small Jerks in my other Computer.

Windows 10
Intel Core i5-2500 CPU @ 3.30GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti
25"-Monitor 2.560×1.440 Pixel

CPU Workload: 53%
GPU Workload: 15-32%

Maybe not, but the point is that it's playing better with any other player.

No, since movie and TV app can do the job, issue is with VLC - exactly as mentioned in ticket.

Yes, exact same video shared at https://e.pcloud.link/publink/show?code ... YH0kzwkc9y is playing fine on my DS10U5 with with "movie & TV" app.
But same video with VLC goes to appr. 100% CPU since GPU apparently is not used.

Hi forum
I see following note in ticket
“10bit 60fps AV1 without SIMD..
wait for 10 bit SIMD”
When is support of this expected?
