Skin: Snap To Edges vs Alt-F4?

Postby metal450 » 14 Apr 2020 09:07

When using the native VLC skin, it doesn't "snap" to the edges of the screen. Since I didn't see anything related to this in the preferences, I assumed it just didn't support this functionality. However, upon switching to a 3rd party skin (https://www.deviantart.com/d4fmac/art/SUPER-BLACK-VLC-player-243251443) suddenly snapping is working! However...strangely, the player can no longer be quit with the standard Windows Alt+F4 shortcut.

1) Is it possible to enable this "snapping" behavior with the native skin? Where's the setting? To be clear, I'm talking about dragging the window near the edge of the screen, & it "magnetically" aligns itself with the edge.

2) Is there a reason that a given theme would break Alt+F4, and is there some way to work around it?

Thanks in advance :)

Figured out a workaround for #2. Manually editing %appdata%\vlc\vlcrc & setting key-quit=Alt+F4 restored proper hotkey behavior.

Would still be curious to know if snapping can be enabled with the native skin, though.
