Record in forced 16:9 (from 4:3 source)

Postby clemenzina » 03 Apr 2018 03:15

Network Stream.

One of "my" wildlife cams is suffering problems so is temporarily, we hope, broadcasting in 4:3 instead of 16:9, making our precious osprey gawky-looking ;)

I was thrilled to find the "Force 16:9" setting under Tools>Preferences>Video, and it works a treat for the display and snapshots are fine - but when I record the 16:9 stream being displayed, the result is 4:3.

Is there some way of forcing 16:9 recording too?

Thanks for reading :)

VLC 3.0.8

Two years later, the problem persists.

I wonder if our dear devs could assist, or tell me if it is an insurmountable problem.
