I'm using VLC to play a live stream for HD resolution. At first, everything goes well. But after several minutes usually after 5 minutes, it stops playing.For other resolutions like QVGA and VGA it is working properly.
I am using VLC version 3.0.8 on Windows 10. What could the problem be?

Tools ---> Preferences ---> Reset Preferences. Exit and then restart vlc. If it doesn't resolve the problem, post again please.

Thanks for the suggestion.I tried this,Tools ---> Preferences ---> Reset Preferences.Still i am facing the same problem. Please suggest me another option to resolve this problem.

- check cpu usage while playing
- check network while playing (are you sure you have no bottleneck on source?)
- what type of live stream? cam? youtube? videocard? grabber? unicast, multicast, rtsp...
