wifi access camera sdcard crashes VLC

Postby evolycam » 09 Feb 2020 10:56

I am trying without success to open a folder to view all the motion-detected files stored on the sdcard of a security camera. I have the latest win10 and vlc. The camera does not appear to have an ftp server and I haven't found a way of seeing it in a windows network but I can connect in a browser.
I have the folder open in a browser and am able to drag a file into vlc which plays it perfectly, but I need to view all the files in the folder sequentially without manually dragging each one separately into vlc as I am getting wrist and hand strains.
open folder: http://192.168.0.60/sd/20200208/record000/ The folder name is not valid. Nothing in tools|messages.
open file: http://192.168.0.60/sd/20200208/record000/A200208_000041_000055.264 'The file name is not valid', VLC crashes and the messages window disappears.
However, if I have previously dragged the file into vlc and played it, it can be played again by clicking on 'open recent media'

open multiple files|network: http://192.168.0.60/sd/20200129/record000/ doesn't play anything and I've tried various ways of putting the user/pwd in the command with similar results.
The messages output is:

Hello evolycam,

first I will add a Link to a Camera Connection Database.

Code: Select all

http://www.ispyconnect.com/sources.aspx
Fore "Evolycam" use the follow Link:

Code: Select all

http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Evolylcam
Some Hints for the "iSpy"-Software.

Code: Select all

Perhaps there is a trouble for Access to SD-Cards with VLC-Player.
- https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=133143

I would also check the WLAN-Connection for stability and Interference with possible other WLAN's.

A URL (http://...) in the Webbrowser for the Camera could also copied and opened in the VLC-Player.

Thanks for that, I can drag and drop one file from the sdcard via a browser page into VLC like in topic 133143 above, but I can't select multiple files in a browser page, cntrl-A selects the whole page including file sizes and dates.

Where are the Manufacture Descriptions for the Cam?
Did you try the Manufacture Software, which was delivered with the Device?

I found only some Webshop-Links without Manufacturers Descriptions.

The windows shortcut I use to start VLC is "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" --demux h264

Aliexpress evolycam pro store Wireless Audio Sony Imx307 Sensor HD 1080P 2MP IP Camera H.265 WiFi Onvif

Search online for H.264_Camera_Client_User_Manual which describes the software supplied in more detail than the online store web page.
The motion detection seems to write to the sdcard and possibly the ftp client, I haven't tried this.
There is nothing to read the sdcard other than the directory index supplied on its web page.
ISpy and ContaCam can read the rstp stream.
Could the problem be H265 vs H264?

Please try and make familiar with the Software "Foscam Camera Client".

Remove the Start-Option --demux h264 for the VLC-Player under Windows.
The Command Line Help is listed in the following Link.

Code: Select all

https://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_command-line_help/

I'm afraid I can't help you more, if you not confirm with the Cam and the Cam-Software.

Link to VLC-Player Features:

Without --demux h264 in the current VLC or --demux=h26x in 4.0.0 I can't drag files from the browser index page into VLC and this is the only way for me play such files.
I would like to be able to play all or multiple files in a folder from a browser but neither VLC or the camera software permits this, unfortunately the camera software only enables single files to be accessed from the sd card and since the camera has no ftp server or samba software it doesn't seem possible to do what I would like to do.
