Automatically find path when removing external hdd

Postby RobinJakobsson » 18 Jan 2020 14:43

Hi, my friend create a playlist direct from en external hard drive, and when he remove it it doesnt relocate the files that are also store on his computer. Is there a way to automatically find and relink audiofiles? He put alot of effort into sorting and arranging the list with Many files.

Hello Robin,

a Playlist contains many Audio- and/or Video-Tracks with the correct Path to the File.

The Path to the File for external HDD is missing, by disconnect the external HDD.

There is no automatic Detection built in the VLC-Player to find the correct File-Path's for Tracks on other Source's.
-> The File Path is always saved in the Playlist!

You need to create a new Playlist with open all Files on your lokal HDD in the VLC-Player an save the Files for Example as new "myname.m3u"-Playlist.

Kind regards.
