SGI 320...anybody has this machine?

my video is overlayed with a slight blue tint ...and i fixed it by setting my screnn to 15 bit 1600x1024 with thesw1600 LCD... but the sound is coming with ticks...anybody please help

We can assume you are running windows or you wouldn't be in this forum, but what version?

You also say you had to change color depth in order to get a picture?? I'm trying to remember when I saw a 15 bit color card??

Non the less it would be helpful if you gave the processor type and speed (CPU) and the graphics card information (Make & model of GPU).

Also what format is creating problems for you?? IE. What is the file type?
Container and filter if you know it. For example: It's a DivX file in a avi container with mp3 sound.

SGI 320 is a machine that was abandon by SGI a mistake...
but with amazing graphics performance still 7 years old but competitive with the recent harware ( sound like a sales pitch)
and because of bad blood with microsoft they created propriotary hardware and software bios which make sit very difficult and time consuming to support or/and get help for....
yes it is win 2K and i have a special monitor the 1600 sw which is a digital LCD hooked to a cobalt card directly connected on the motherboard... not a pcI
I have tried with the 32 bit set up but that's where i got the overlay blue tint.. so i switch to 15 bit.
the format that i am viewing is DVD disk rented in the states kagemusha from kurosawa. i am not sure what is the container and the mpg format...
I havetwo 1000mhz cpu and 728 mb of memory.

OK! Thanks for reminding me! I do remember this proprietary stuff.

From what you have told me the problem is not the machine per-say but the video card not having enough memory. You could try reducing the resolution and then increasing the color depth. Generally 15 bit cards also had 24 bit color settings. My point here is that you may need to play with these settings to gain a better over all setting that is not only good for playing DVDs but also working with the machine in general. Unless you really don't mind changing this all the time. By the way DVDs are MPEG2 VOB files that is in an MPEG container.
