How do I prevent Stop resizing the window?

I have Preferences [x] Resize windows to video size, and this works when video is paused or playing.

But if I press Stop, the window resizes large (pushing the control bar off the screen bottom) despite that the video is still loaded. How do I prevent this resizing upon Stop?

PS This posting past page says "Please post only Windows specific [sic] questions in this forum category." I've no idea whether this question is specific to Windows since I don't use the non-Windows versions so I don't know it would apply to them too. But I do know Windows-specific answers are fine.

After stop, the window takes back its original size, I believe it's your issue but I don't think there is a way to prevent this.

that's fine, it is mostly to say "don't post your issues about android here"
