Index popup displayed during ordinary play

Postby markfilipak » 05 May 2019 19:57

New symptom for a disc played many times before.

During ordinary playback (not index jumping), when an index point is met, an index thumbnail with a horizontal time scale is displayed in the middle of the screen for about 5 seconds. I tried hitting VLC with 2 blunt instruments, 1: Settings to default, and 2: reinstalling VLC. Nothing has worked.

Any ideas how I can fix it?

Disc: "THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY" blu-ray.
VLC: 3.0.6 Vetinari

Thanks much,
Mark

You mean a full thumbnail? If so, we fixed that for next release of libbluray.

Hi JB. I'm not sure to what "full thumbnail" refers. The thumbnail in this case is coming from the disc, not VLC. It's the same thumbnail and index bar that is displayed by blu-ray discs when you select "SCENES" in a blu-ray menu. It's not VLC's index bar (which is at the bottom of the screen). I think this bahavior is java-driven.

Then, it is fixed for next release of libbluray. See https://code.videolan.org/videolan/libbluray/issues/13
