New problem with VL Sub

I recently uploaded VL Sub, and I am now encountering an error that is not the common "Extension does not respond" issue.

I can search for the subtitles, select the subtitles for download, and then click Download Selection. So far, so good. The green downloading bar fills up, and typically the download should finish, and then a quick message on the screen should appear "Subtitles Loaded"

However, in my case, the green bar stays on the screen, looking full. It's as if my download gets cut off at 99.9999% complete. I can go into the folder where the subtitle should downloaded to, and I can see it there. But the "size" column in Windows explorer shows 0 Kb. Like the document name is already there, but not the content. I give it time and wait, but the green bar still gets stuck and won't complete the download.

I tried re-installing VLSub and have the latest versions, but still getting this issue. Any tips? Thank you !
