Is it possible to change the higlighting colour on the playlist (tool bar) to improve the contrast?

Hi, you should consider upgrading to VLC 3, the 2.x.x has a lot of security flaws. By the way it will solve your issue.

Btw. inserting images does not work here, but image-url does
