VLC shadows oddly bright

VLC player appears to be having problems casting shadows. They're strangely bright, and oddly colored. Dark scenes never actually look dark.

I've run the same video on Windows Media Player, and it worked fine. So did YouTube. So I know the problem isn't on my end. I'll just use Windows Media Player for now, but since it's so limited, I would much rather fix this issue as soon as possible.
