m3u8 link not playing in VLC

I entered a m3u8 link in Open Network Stream but nothing happens.
Can someone try it in VLC?

m3u8 isn't a playable format since it's just a text file which acts as an index to where the playable file formats are to be found. See explanation here

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

I understand what your saying about m3u8 format.
But since I am not too technical, all I know is that link is playing in Firefox. How did I get that link? I have a downloader program addon that captures url.

Also http://yoursports.stream/live.php?v=espn does work. Maybe briefly when you tried not working. Keep trying.
I am watching ESPN on that same site as I am typing this reply.
Also as you can see there are other tv channels and games that can be played on that site.
Feel free to load other channels(sorry some don;t work, but ESPN, ESPN2 works)

All I am trying to do is to record ESPN on VLC.
If you can find others ways, please educate me.

I tried to copy the message into pastebin.com but I am not sure how to send it to you.
But if you don;t mind you can enter "http://ak-hls-brs-espn1.espn.go.com/hls ... -4500.m3u8" in VLC and see the same message.

?? I am confused at your reply. So I posted the same question at another forum, NextPVR, looking for solutions. Is that a problem?
BTW NextPVR developer is very smart and nice guy who takes time to answer many questions that he knows about.
I don;t think Next PVR would mention why I posted same question on VLC forum...
I used NextPVR few times till I found better option for my needs, same as I don;t use VLC anymore cus I found better options for my needs.

Personally, I think my question is a good question that deserve a good answer.
I was very surprised I couldn't find same or similar questions already in the forum.

From replies and interest on my post so far, I don;t think I am gonna find any answers here. So I am moving on.

Lastly, since I don;t post much much and only casual user, are you one of those people who think VLC is the greatest and offended by any questions about short coming of VLC?

Of course you're entitled to post questions wherever you please, that's your privilige. But you say that the guy at NVPR is smart yet you don't want to accept what he's telling you.

As for your links, they don't work and the reason they don't work is because Cloudflare rejects unauthorised access to protected content.

You may have found a way around that problem with the downloader you mentioned, but nobody else can access the content using your links.
