Where is the file associations?

Hi there,

I used to be able to find the area where you just check off a box that allows all file types to open with VLC, but now I can't find it.

Where is it in the preferences area?

I don't know if there is a way to do this in VLC itself, other than during the installation of VLC.
I do however know of a menu where you can manipulate the default program for file extensions in the Windows 7 control panel. I am not sure you use Windows 7, but I'll just tell you so you can take a look for yourself.
This might also work in Windows 8.

Open the control panel of Windows
Go to "Programs"
Go to "Default programs"
Go to "Set your default programs"
Select VLC media player for the list on the left
Click "Choose defaults for this program"

Here you'll have an overview of all file extensions associated with VLC. You can manipulate them one by one, multiple, or even all at once like you requested.
