Why is this full screen control issue still ongoing

Postby primeshooter » 30 Aug 2018 20:01

Why is it the full screen controls still don't work? If I google this issue it goes back to starting in about 2008 and people have constantly mentioned it? How do I fix it. I will go back to media player but not ready to experience pain like that yet, but close. Any help appreciated. Tried selecting automatic in the video tab etc etc, nothing works. It seems to be okay with mp4 files but MOV files or MKV files it's not there, it makes no sense.

Update - no some MP4 files are effected. No none are corrupt etc etc.

Hello,

Maybe you can start by describing your issue.

I did. It's simple, full screen controls don't display with most file types, randomly they work but most often not.

can you give your OS version, vlc version, and perhaps logs

To help you, we need messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure before you start the playback to:
  1. Open: Tools -> Messages.
  2. Set Verbosity to 2
  3. Start playback to reproduce your issue
  4. Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
  5. Then paste the full resulting log here between [code]and[/code] (or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)
Also don't forget to name your Operating System and provide the VLC media player version.

Also, it doesn't happen with every file. But most.

These 'bumps' of yours are not going to result in any help with your issue until you provide the info requested by chubinou on Sept 1.

To see what a log file looks like see this thread: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=146585
