Unable to reposition Fullscreen floating controller

Postby slova » 06 Aug 2018 20:06

Hello,

Is there a setting that I cannot see or maybe it is named differently? Is there a way to undock the fullscreen controller in VLC 3.0.3? :?

I am having trouble with the full screen floating controller.
I am using version 3.0.3 Vetinari on a windows 7 machine.

I use two screens. 1 is my primary which I would like to have the controls in, 2 is my movie playing screen.
In version 2.1 on another machine I am able to drag the fullscreen controller window into my primary monitor and it STAYS. But I had other issues where I was unable to direct the fullscreen video to the second display, so I upgraded to 3.0.3 on my presentation machine which we use to play movies in presentation mode. (aka minimal look). (I do not have the minimal tab checked because I still want the fullscreen controller, yet in my primary screen not the same as fullscreen movie)
When in 3.0.3 I am unable to have the fullscreen controller in my primary window, screen 1. I drag it over to screen 1, then as soon as it hides, it refreshes back to screen 2.

I have tried unchecking the "integrate video in interface" box but it places my full screen video in the primary display and bypasses the output I selected; 2nd screen.

I have tried changing my interface but it gives me UI with code that isn't as user friendly as the initial UI.

I've been looking for a solution for this issue for weeks now. I've checked the VLC ticket List, nightly builds I am unsure how to use, and I After searching forums + videos, I'm still at a dead end.
Please help.

Yes, this. I have the same problem and it drives me crazy. Regressions like this one make me really miss 2.1 branch.

So, what happens when you double-click on the video?

It switches between fullscreen and window as normal, the problem is that I can move the fullscreen controller anywhere I'd like and it will stay there - as long as it stays on the display with video. I used to be able to have video playing in fullscreen on my top (secondary) monitor, with the controller below it (on top of my bottom monitor), but now it just snaps back to the default position.

I tried separating video from the interface and it mostly works, but it's a hack-ish workaround. I can drag the video window to the screen I want and fullscreen it there, but when switching between playlist items it seems to randomly close that window and open a new one on my primary screen, forcing me to close fullscreen, drag the window back, and re-expand it again. Not really a great user experience.

Oh, OK. I misunderstood the issue. I personally only have a single monitor.
