not able to play file

Postby molitar » 04 Jan 2006 07:18

Ok i have an mkv file that appears to have been muxed in videolan it works fine but the subtitle formatting was screwed up so I demuxed the video now I am not able to remux or demux the video back because the file extracted as track1. with no ending extension and only identifiable as avc. The hexedit text at the beginning shows..

îïx264 - core 42 svn-388M - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec - Copyleft 2005 - http://www.videolan.org/x264.html - options: cabac=1 ref=16 deblock=1:0:0 analyse=0x3:0x133 me=esa subme=7 brdo=1 mixed_ref=1 me_range=16 chroma_me=1 trellis=2 8x8dct=1 cqm=0 chroma_qp_offset=0 slices=1 bframes=3 b_pyramid=1 b_adapt=1 b_bias=0 direct=2 wpredb=1 keyint=250 keyint_min=25 scenecut=40 pass=2 bitrate=1070 ratetol=10.0 rceq='blurCplx^(1-qComp)' qcomp=0.40 qpmin=10 qpmax=51 qpstep=4 cplxblur=10.0 qblur=0.5 ip_ratio=1.40 pb_ratio=1.40

Now is their a way to fix this file back to standard h264 so that it can be played? Or how can I remux this video file back into an mkv container since all muxers I have tried complain about the video and won't mux it. The video works fine in the mkv but not outside of it.
