video glitches where there were none before

Postby oganeg » 10 Jun 2018 18:00

Last week everything was fine. A few days after upgrading to 3.0.3 I started having the same problem with many files that used to play perfectly: every few seconds the picture breaks up into vertical streaks. The very same files play perfectly in Chrome.

I tried reverting to 3.0.2. No change.
I tried a clean install. No change.
I tried different video output settings. No change.

VLC worked perfectly for me for years. I want it to work again!

Hi,

Can you send the log ? you can grab them in the tools->messages window, after increasing the verbosity level.

On what OS are you ?

Thank you for looking at the problem! Here is an example. It looked fine last week and now looks like vertical streaks in VLC and normal in Chrome:

I'm guessing that
"direct3d11 error: Could not Create the D3D11 device. (hr=0x80004001)"
and related errors are the problem (video output is set to "Automatic"), but I've tried all the output options and the picture looks the same.

Oh, I should have mentioned: I'm using Windows 7.

I am having the same issue since the upgrade. I am on Windows 10, and have had to switch to another player because it glitches every few seconds for certain files.
