2 windows displayed on launch

Postby twriterext » 30 Mar 2018 17:50

I have VLC 2.2.6 installed on a 64 bit Windows 7 Pro SP1 laptop with an i5 processor an 8 GB of RAM.

Up until a few days ago, when I launched VLC, the playlist window was displayed. Suddenly, when I launch VLC, 2 windows are displayed (or are available), the playlist window and what I think is called the main window, which has a black background and the VLC logo.

I want to return to the single window upon launch (the playlist window) but I can't figure out how to do it. I have searched this forum (with a variety of search criteria) and also tried a number of Google searches, but found nothing relevant.

Can anyone help?

Not sure about 2.2 but in 3.0 there is a button at the bottom that does the Toggle Playlist display. If you do that and restart VLC it's still in playlist mode.
