how to disable Direct3D11 output

Postby LadyTaz64 » 30 Mar 2018 01:04

I have the VLC 3.0.1
For no reason, that I know of, the extra window opens.
This window has VLC (Direct3D11 output) on top.
How do I disable this?
I have tried several things suggested on the net, but nothing works.
Can someone Please help me?
I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Open VLC preferences, and tick the "Integrate video in interface" box.

It should take effect next time you start a playback

I have the same problem, and the option "Integrate video in interface" has no effect. I have also tried installing the latest nightly build (4.0.0 03-07-2018) and the behavior is the same

Hello,

I would like to develop this topic. I am using VLC ActiveX and have the same issue with a new Window Direct3D11 opening up. I have changed the VLC preferences as recommended but this does not affect ActiveX output, with additional windows keep coming. Any idee how to deactivate this ?

This problem appears to be caused by the "output" option being set to automatic.

Results may vary, but I have found changing this setting from "Automatic" to "Windows GDI video Output" has worked for my computer.
After changing this setting and restarting VLC, videos resumed playing in the VLC skin I was using.

EDIT:
I have found certain video encoding formats appear to have issues with this output module, there are a few different options to pick from, see what works best for you from the list.

It also seems as though some people only have this problem when using the Windows context menu and selecting "Play with VLC Media Player"
Another workaround for some people is to select "Add to VLC Media Player's Playlist" instead.
