1080i Sat Stream Blocky image, and FULL PC FROZEN on 3.0.1

Postby vilapupu » 17 Mar 2018 04:43

I've recently upgraded to the latest version of VLC, which is 3.0.1 The issue is that a Satelite 1080i (H.264/AAC) stream that I personally have shows a blocky image (color issue), and it later freezes the WHOLE computer! I'm running Windows 10 x64 with the latest updates. I have not tested the issue on other computers, but seeing how bothersome it is I probably won't.

At first I thought it was an 64bit version issue as I noticed the download of the site downloaded the unstable(?) 64bit. Same issue persisted. Tried with 3.0.0 and the same blocky image and the whole computer becoming frozen.

Something to notice is that I would change from windowed to full screen at least two or three times, but the thing is that this issue has NEVER happened prior to 3.0.0. In 2.2.8 it works perfectly and it doesn't freeze the whole computer.

Since I can't even screencap or see the log, I took a screenshot of the laptop monitor. I really don't know what's happening.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

I will try to do that when I have the time, but this issue locks up the whole desktop when it occurs. :/ I'll reply back if I can do something about it.

Can you disable hardware decoding and try again?

try by disabling hardware decoding

your screen capture seems really strange
:!: If you want your problem to be solved :
* First read troubleshooting guide VSG:Main
* Always provide verbose LOGS ! (command line or from gui)
* Always check your issue against a developer build from Nightly Build of VLC
* Tell us when your problem is solved !
