VLC 3.0: Change audio output during playback?

Postby Megasoum » 18 Feb 2018 05:46

Hey,

Maybe I'm missing something but I can't seem to be able to change the audio output in Windows while a video is playing without having to restart VLC for the change to take effect.

I use keyboard shortcuts to switch between my sound card outputs (speakers) and my USB headphones. In 3.0 when I hit the shortcut the audio output changes in Windows but not in VLC. I have to right-click and manually change the audio device in the menu.

Hi

I am facing the exact same issue. In fact I was about to start a new thread but then I saw yours :)

In previous versions of VLC it would automatically change its "Audio Device" based on the "Playback Device" selected in Windows, so switching between PC Speakers and Headphones was easy. Now I have to manually change the "Audio Device" in VLC.
