VLC doesn't resume playback with a skin

Hello, I have the following problem with VLC 2.2 - upon enabling the "Always" option for resuming video playback when opening the same video file, everything works okay. However, when I select the option of having a custom skin (that one if i t matters - https://addons.videolan.org/p/1167642/), the resume playback feature stops working. Even if I then choose the built-in sort of darker skin of VLC, it doesn't work. However, if I choose the native style (very ugly), the resume playback features functions properly. Is there a way around that issue? Thank you in advance!
