saving a title in playlist

Postby psl924 » 28 Nov 2017 20:19

Hello: I did a search in this forum using term "save artist" and "save artist typed in data" and did not see a relevant reply. Is there a format or specific name I must type into a playlist's "artist" field, for the name I typed in to actually be saved to file? This specific instance is for Hawaii Public Radio's classical stream, which is referenced to streamguys. Here's the link (which works): http://khpr-ice.streamguys1.com:80/kipo2. I enter into the "open media stream" file menu, then I try to add a title to the "artist" field (say, "hpr2"), via the "information" mouse submenu which calls up the media info window. But when I save & close the playlist & reopen, what I typed in (hpr2) is not there, the field is blank. Mostly what I type in, for other stations, stays there, but I've forgotten the fix. I looked at wikihow, but the L column illustrated w/"local", "playlist", "internet" is not available on my VLC 2.2.6 umbrella 32bit. (So I can't look up an alternate to streamguys for this station, which endorses streamguys). Please advise, thank you.
