online auto-play audio/video causes VLC music to lower volume

Postby ChipW » 25 Sep 2017 00:30

First, I absolutely hate autoplaying online video/audio, more than anything else, that is the worst thing about websites. When I am using my laptop, I am listening to my own music. Sometimes I take a break from my work and visit cnn.com or other news websites. And of course that all have autoplaying videos. When those autoplaying videos start playing my VLC music volume is automatically cut way down. I don't want that to happen. I can't find any setting that will keep VLC top priority and online autoplaying bs in the background. Please tell me there is a way to do this. I hate it when my music is cut to almost nothing to give priority to some inane autoolay crap.
Thank,
Chip
(Is this specific to Windows? I have no idea, I have only this one laptop and it's running Win8.1)

This is probably the audio volume ducking feature of recent Windows versions.
