Sending a Downloaded Movie, Via VLC Media PLayer, from Desktop to TV

Postby oaky7 » 23 Sep 2017 03:12

Hello: A first-timer to the forum and I do hope someone can help me solve my problem issue. I have a downloaded movie on my desktop computer and I use the VLC Media Player to play or watch it on my desktop screen.
The problem arises when I attempt to stream or cast (using the Mirror Cast feature on my Sony TV) from the desktop to my Sony 4k Ultra Hi-Def television.
I don't see any Mirror Cast icon on the desktop screen, when playing the downloaded movie, to click on so I can cast the picture over to the TV.

However when I stop the movie and go to my regular browser (Google Chrome) using Windows 7, the Mirror Cast icon is located in the upper right corner. When I click on the icon, the model number of my TV appears, and then when I click on the model number, whatever is showing on my browser screen is cast or sent to my television.

Is/are there a setting(s) on the VLC Media Player or something else I have to do to allow me to cast the downloaded movie or picture from my desktop over to my TV?

I would appreciate any help or input in solving this matter so that I can mirror the downloaded movie to my YF from the desktop.
Thank you.
