Converting Video files with more than one audio track

Postby nolarucker » 02 May 2016 01:02

How do you convert a video file that has more than one audio track. ie an .mkv file with japanses on audio track 1 and english on track 2. I only need the english to work on the converted file.

I suppose it is sufficient to specify the audio either by "--audio-language=eng" or "--audio-track=1" (here "1" is the second track and "0" the first one !) as command line options and then all other options (for playing the file and transcoding) as usual, i.e.:

vlc file.mkv --audio-language=eng (all your transcoding options with --sout="#transcode{....}" or similar)

You would likely also need --no-sout-all
