Close/minimise buttons missing

Hi everyone. I'm new here, so hope this doesn't turn out to be too silly a question. I have Windows 7 OS. For some time now ( maybe since the last update ), The top bar has been missing from my display, so I have no minimise or close buttons. I've had to close by going to Media, then selecting Quit , which closes the whole program, rather the video. I have tried all the relevant options I could see in Preferences and View. Any help please?

I followed your suggestion by deleting manually, and it's back to normal. I certainly don't understand, but it worked, and I'm grateful. Thank you so much.

I believe I had the same problem... mine got fixed by going to "View" menu and unchecking "Fullscreen Interface".

Pressing F11 - cured it for me.
