broken link loop bug

hi, there is a thing bugging me for years, and I'm astonished this wasn't reported and/or fixed yet

so here I am for the report

set vlc to loop videos
create a link to a video
delete the video (not the link)
click on the video

vlc with then go batshit and eat all your cpu power non stop
will no longer respond, only way to stop it is kill it in process explorer

please fix this annoying bug that has been pestering us for years

This was reported many times. It's just not that easy to fix.

Limit the number of reports to 3 per session. Et Voilà!
