Pulsing sound (random step-changing sound level)

Postby martinu » 24 May 2017 09:54

I've noticed that VLC produces random step-changing sound level when playing .ts or .wtv files that are recorded from DVB-T2 (HD broadcast: 1920x1080x25 H264). It doesn't do it for DVB-T (SD broadcast 720x576x25) files. It sounds as if the volume of the video is suddenly being turned up or down a bit at random times.

I'm using V2.1.5 because I've found that any version newer than this has unrelated problems with the picture being corrupted when playing .mpg or .dvr-ms files, so I'm staying with a version that works properly.

PC is Windows 7. Realtek soundcard (no model number is reported in Device Manager). ASUS EAH5450 graphics card.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with pulsing sound.
