Importing from CD

Postby HansL » 23 May 2017 01:16

Hello:

When I try to import (Save/Convert) from CD (.cda files, in this case), I get to a point where I have to name a "Destination file". It does not make any sense. If I import all files on a CD, I can't give them names. I'll take the names on the CD. What am I missing here? Thanks for help!

The names are not on the cd. When we look at it on a computer it appears to be a typical file system that we are used to, but the cd is not actually like that. What we are looking at is some computer generated relationship of the cd content. And if song names are provided it's only because the program retrieved them from out of the internet tubes.

Stick a cd in a car player and it will show "Track 1", "Track 2", ...

This is the best way to rip an audio cd using vlc: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=130354
