vlc telnet not showing

Postby reto » 11 Dec 2005 15:59

hi. I want to setup some channels so that clients can connect to the server and choose a channel and watch it. I found everything in the documentation and I know how to do it - theoretically. the problem is that I cannot get access to the telnet console. how do I start this thing under windows? when I click on add interface>telnet nothing happens and when I start vlc via command line with the option --extraintf telnet still nothing happens. how can I access telnet under vlc for windows??

Hello,

These are the two main solutions to do this. The telnet interface opens in the background and waits for connexions.

To connect to the telnet interface, open a dos command box and type "telnet localhost 4212" (or another port if you changed it with the telnet-port option)

The default password is "admin", you can change it too.
