I tried searching for this topic and found a very old posting, so I'm starting a new thead.
I'm using VLC 2.2.4 Weatherwax and I'm scratching my head as to why VLC keeps going out of fullscreen mode just about every time it starts a new video from the playlist. I do have, under the Video category in the Preferences, Fullscreen video output, embedded video checked.
After further testing, I have found separate files, subtitles for example, that causes the player to go out of fullscreen mode. What happens is after I open a folder full of videos to play (Media -> Open Folder) it adds =all= files, supported videos or not, to the playlist. When it attempts to play a file that's not supported in the playlist, the player exits fullscreen mode and it is not restored especially after it opens the next supported video file.
Is there a fix that can avoid exiting the fullscreen mode while playing the playlist? If there is a file in the playlist that cannot be played, it should not leave fullscreen mode.
Also, can there be a filter setting in the Playlist preferences that we can select supported video/photo files using extensions (like .mp4, .mkv, .mov etc.) to be added to a list after selecting a folder to play the video files?
I want to ask the community first before submitting a support ticket. Thanks.
