Desktop capture issue: empty file

Postby smileis » 13 Feb 2017 10:58

Hi,
I have a desktop capture issue. I've tried to save a stream to the file, but a result is empty (<1 KB).
I've tried both with endocing and raw stream - results are the same.
2.2.4 crashes when i enabled encoding, the latest nighlity doesn't, althoug the result file is still empty
Can somebody help me to solve this problem?

Winfows 7 x64, 2.2.4 (3.0.0-20170213-0446-git-win64-debug)

Aapreciate any help,
thanks!

i had the same problem.
Please deinstall 2.2.4 and use 2.1.5.

You find original older versions and portable versions (7z/zip) here:
http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/
Please realy deinstall 2.2.4 bevor use 2.1.5.
and delete the folder: C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\vlc

And use the command line (in Windows -> Start -> cmd.exe) for recording.
here i post working example command lines:

You are recording from your desktop. Is your desktop playing sound?

No, an application.
What should I change in order to capture video and audio from a software video player?

You can make it with two instances and later connect video and sound.
