I love/cherish the auto-resume playback functionality of VLC; I usually invoke it with Ctrl+1 or the "Media"|"Open Recent Menu" menu.
But sometimes I've already deleted that file, and then VLC hangs. Instead of then having to close/restart VLC, it would be nice to just get a "file missing" message.
Until I disabled the error-log popup, I needed to use Windows to halt VLC; thereafter "Media"|"Quit" worked.
