Streaming via video capture card problems

Postby beskee » 29 Nov 2005 16:01

HI

I have been trying to set a steaming via a video capture card. I can set up VLC normal and I can see a picture from the camera attached to the capture via VLC. When I stream using the same settings but via a udp stream I can not pick up a picture on the client computer. I have used an avi file and that works ok, just not with the capture card.

any body have any ideas

Thanks

Beskee

Make sure your TTL is set to the number of routers you need to cross to get between the server and the client. Usually a TTL of 12 or so works fine.

Without the TTL adjustment, the UDP stream will stop after one router hop.

I have the same problem. I don't set the TTL, because there is not router on my lan. and opening avi file to streaming out is ok.

Changing the TTL did't work,I still can't stream from my capture card but I can stream using an avi file TTl changed or not.
