VLC cover art crashes

Postby ratgirl71 » 03 May 2016 02:17

I have run into an issue trying to change the album cover art in VLC 2.2.2. I know how to do it (and I do it from file as opposed to downloading, since it tends to correct more often that way), but after one or 2 changes, VLC suddenly crashes. I am running Windows 10,and if I restart my computer, sometimes it will work for a while, but eventually it goes back to doing the same thing. And it's really frustrating to restart every time this happens. ANyone else having this issue? I could of course just leave it, but my preference is to have cover art that matches the media playing.

Have you tried deleting the image files in vlc's cover art cache directory? I don't use Windows 10 so I'm not sure where this is kept but possibly somewhere in the /AppData folder? I had problems with cover art on my Linux machine & clearing out the cover art cache did the trick.
