Unwanted popups and logfiles about command line playing

Postby VeryLazyChris » 19 Apr 2016 16:10

Whenever I play on Windows a popup appears with "Warning: if you cannot access the GUI anymore, open a command line window..." This itself looks buggy (which it probably is).

To make things worse, when I click away this popup the whole application quits. WTF?

There are also log files 'vlc-log.txt' scattered around. For instanced with these contents.
-- logger module started --
core: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
core: Status file authenticated
core: stopping playback

Curently there are no problems with VLC itself, so this is all quite annoying.

VLC 2.2.2 Windows 8.1

Delete %AppData%\vlc and launch the program again.
If that doesn't work, uninstall VLC from the control panel, delete the program directory, then delete %AppData%\vlc.
Download a fresh copy from a trusted source and reinstall.
