Screen Washes Out White

Postby RAlgarJr » 12 Apr 2016 23:10

When the VLC Media Player is playing a digital video, (.avi, .mkv, mp4, etc.), the screen will wash out white, you can see the video playing behind what appears to be a overlay. After about 2 seconds, the video returns to normal, sometimes instantly and sometimes a little slower where the picture has digital noise like if you have a bad reception from a digital over the air TV station.
I run Windows 10, 64 bit Home, Version 10.0.10240 Build 10240
Computer is custom, built by me
AsusTek Motherboard, Legacy BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 1104, 8/23/2013
8 gig memory,
Intel Core i3, 2200 processor @ 3.30 GHz
2 Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti, 2gig graphic ram each, hardwired SLI enabled
Codecs
c:\windows\system32\x264vfw.dll x264vfw project x264 H.264 Video Codec OK
c:\windows\system32\msrle32.dll Microsoft Corporation OK
c:\windows\system32\msvidc32.dll Microsoft Corporation OK
c:\windows\system32\msyuv.dll Microsoft Corporation OK
c:\windows\system32\iyuv_32.dll Microsoft Corporation OK
c:\windows\system32\tsbyuv.dll Microsoft Corporation OK

The video runs direct from the video card to the tv via HDMI cable. TV is an Insignia 42"
Here's a screen shot of what's going on.

I also noticed this problem on some wmv files. I suspect this has something to do with error correction. vlc may not handle errors correctly.
