When the VLC Media Player is playing a digital video, (.avi, .mkv, mp4, etc.), the screen will wash out white, you can see the video playing behind what appears to be a overlay. After about 2 seconds, the video returns to normal, sometimes instantly and sometimes a little slower where the picture has digital noise like if you have a bad reception from a digital over the air TV station.

The video runs direct from the video card to the tv via HDMI cable. TV is an Insignia 42"
