Bluetooth Play/Pause button

I'm using VLC 2.2.1 and have encountered a problem with my bluetooth headphones. When pressing the combined play/pause button, I can only play and pause the video once, after that the button only works for either play or pause until VLC is restarted. I can not bind the play/pause function of my headhpones in the hotkey menu either. The forward and backward functions, linked to the same button as the play/pause button(by pressing it twice or thrice respectively), can be bound fine however.

Both of these problems seem to have been encountered before, in earlier versions of VLC, but were supposed to be fixed.

I've had the same problem yet there's no solution, please fix this VLC

bump...would really appreciate this being fixed...got some new headphones for Christmas and they work great on everything except for VLC.
