Remote SwitchOff/Command VLC Windows Client

Postby anishzedka » 29 Sep 2015 22:43

Hi,

I have a problem which has to do with a cashier, but since the vendor does not seem to have a solution, I thought of engaging in contact with the application I have installed on it and which causes the problem in the first place.

I have installed a VLC client on a windows machine, which is actually a cashing machine. The VLC client displays commercials while the machine is in procedure processing when a customer buys products. The VLC recently struggled to execute the mp4 files for some reason. I think it is because of incompatibility with my windows machine.
The errors are as followed:
VLC is unable to open MRL 'file:///c:\Storage\file.mp4'. Check the log for details.

I can't log into the machine, so now all i see is those errors on the screen.

How can I remote control the VLC or how can a VideoLan Support engineer can assist and connect remotely to the machine to fix the error and even reset the machine password.

Hi anish,

there are no support engineers. VLC media players developers have regular Jobs and care for the player during there free time this is why the player can be open source and free.

Did you try the Wiki Link you received per mail? (https://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_HowTo/) (https://wiki.videolan.org/Web_Interface/)
Did you try to use your browser for remote control, as mention in the e-mail?

If you did, you should use it to change the Video Output (Tools --> Video --> Output ) to Direct X or Open GL - If there are some problems with Mp4, this might help.

Best,
Poldy
