Thank you for the help, but I need more info then that seeing as there's a ton of stuff in Preferences. For example I know under Subtitles/OSD there is a box you can type your preferred subtitle langue, but seeing as I specifically only want the English subtitles to show up for signs and songs I don't know what I need to type into there or if there's somewhere else in preferences that gives you this option.

I watch a bunch of anime, so this would be very helpful for videos that have the option to display English subtitles for signs and songs.

Tooltip says: "...(comma separated, two or three letters country code, ..."
Preferred subtitles language [en]

Yes, but wouldn't that give me subtitles in English for all dialog? I don't want it for all dialog, only for signs and songs.

2 gag? So is this a joke?
You will need a subtitle file that ONLY contains signs and songs?
Players simply show text in the file.

I'm talking about when a video ALREADY has the option for English Signs/Songs subtitles, how do I make it so that option is chosen automatically.

Wasn't hat answered and you said wouldn't that make it all the time? Yes you must change it whenever you want a new option. VLC cannot predict.
