Crash when batch-running 2 or more files (on 2.2.1)

Postby Mandula » 10 Jun 2015 23:09

Hi.
I get a crash when I select 2 or more files in Windows Explorer and play them (I press Enter). A song of them starts playing in the background, I have no UI and get a lot of Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library errors. If I OK them, the app crashes completely. It happens EVERY time I start 2 or more files at the same time. I always try to play mp3 files. Using VLC 2.2.1 here.
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library errors:

Code: Select all

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications's support team for more information.
Windows Error Reporting errors:

Hope this helps.

I have the same error with VLC 2.2.1, it appeared after I updated from 2.1.5. When choosing "Play with VLC" while selecting 2 or more files/folders, 2 things happen immediately :
  • The song starts playing in the background.
  • Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library window(s) popup.
I tested playing from the local network and directly from my HDD, with mixed results. When playing from network, I get 2 identical popups, when playing from HDD only one. In both cases VLC closes itself once I click OK. I use Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Here the error message :
