Hi there, I have the same issue.
but only when playing back from an external HDD drive, connected via USB2.
its NOT just an issue with MPEG2 Vids, it occurs with MP4 vids as well.
happens
1) after pausing a vid and starting the playback after some minutes again
with the computer left totally switched on
--> no power saving setting, screensaver or anything else activated.
2) with the drive where the vid is stored having a stressful job, loading too much data.
as for point 1)
I for myself had the explanation that this occurs when a vid is paused on any other frame than an I-Frame
(I dont really know), but it dissappears after one or two seconds.
and for 2)
well, it's obvious...
THIS is a matter that does not really hit me hard,
as I ran into several other and much more disturbing video errors during the last years
with VLC and other programs, so this issue is easy shmeezy.
