Experiencing a white pixelation while playing...

Postby brandon_4385 » 04 Jun 2015 08:24

Seeing this white pixilation on a Windows 7 PC as well as a brand new iMac while playing videos with VLC 2.2.1:

Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks.

I'm having the exact same problems. Also running Win7 64bit. Any solutions?

Yep same here, running Win 7 64 bit. No solutions yet. Hopefully something soon. If not, we should report a bug.

Exact same problem here. This has happened with the past several generations of VLC. Running Win7 x64 on most of my systems, though sme problem happens on my single x32 system. Same video file plays perfectly with Windows Media player but I much prefer VLC and would like to see this bug fixed.

I too have found that this bug goes back several versions in both 32 & 64bit Win7. Now I just have to find out how to submit a bug report and take a short snipet of one of several movies I'm having problems with, and see if I can get a bug ticket going on this issue.

Still suffering this problem.
To elucidate; the white-out / pixelation occurs at frequent (maybe every five or six minutes) throughout ANY video, be it mkv/avi/mov/mp4. It happens both on my Mac Pro and my Windows 10 machines. Has there been any movement on this yet please?

I have not seen any update or fix to this issue yet. We may have to send another bug report.

It happens across the board with ANY video format.

Hi there, I have the same issue.
but only when playing back from an external HDD drive, connected via USB2.
its NOT just an issue with MPEG2 Vids, it occurs with MP4 vids as well.

happens
1) after pausing a vid and starting the playback after some minutes again
with the computer left totally switched on
--> no power saving setting, screensaver or anything else activated.

2) with the drive where the vid is stored having a stressful job, loading too much data.

as for point 1)
I for myself had the explanation that this occurs when a vid is paused on any other frame than an I-Frame
(I dont really know), but it dissappears after one or two seconds.

and for 2)
well, it's obvious...

THIS is a matter that does not really hit me hard,
as I ran into several other and much more disturbing video errors during the last years ;)
with VLC and other programs, so this issue is easy shmeezy.
