VLC will only play audio files opened through iTunes

Postby stanbondinc » 11 Jun 2015 19:08

I have a folder a folder on my Windows XP computer containing VLC audio files (?.cda) that I loaded from a CD. If I attempt to open them with VLC (latest version 2.21), the description in the upper left of the VLC screen flickers, but nothing gets played. If I load the files directly from the CD into iTunes, then right click the file in iTunes to open with internet explorer, they play OK in VLC. Any help would be appreciated

VLC does not current support CDA "files". Open the Audio CD directly in VLC if you want to play a CDDA.

Thanks. Ripped the file to MP3 & it works great now.
