Runtime Error

Postby sensualspirit » 02 May 2015 22:51

I've been having problems with VLC in the last month or two. I made the mistake of coming on here & reading a thread about how their VLC has suddenly started causing them problems & after that I've had intermittent issues :(

Those I could live with, but now I can't even play anything properly.

I keep getting tons of these popup windows with:

Runtime Error

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in a unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I'm running shitty Win 8.1

Oops, forgot to mention that I already uninstalled & reinstalled it, same issue.

And now when I go to close it, the VLC window isn't even up, so the only way to close it is to click on those popups & then the VLC crashes on its own. :(

This is REALLY bad.

I FIXED (I THINK). IS VERY SIMPLE. GO TO ''TOOLS'' ABOVE, THEN ''PREFERENCES'', AND IN ''INTERFACE'' (YOU ARE THERE) LOOK DOWN FOR THE SECTION CALLED ''REPRODUCTION LIST AND INSTANCES'' AND THERE MAKE CLICK IN ALL THE OPTIONS LESS IN ''PAUSE REPRODUCTION WHEN MINIMIZED''
ES MÁGICO!!!!!!!!!!ES MÁGICOOOOOOO. I FIXED, IM A GENIUS, IM A --please stay polite-- NERD, BILL GATES WILL CONTRACT ME, MY NAME IS ALFREDO SABAGNI IM FROM ROSARIO, ARGENTINA.

I figured out that it works fine on a video file, but with my .flac audio files is when it's doing this.

I can't believe no one will help me. NOT NICE.

I can't find this "reproduction list & instances" area. I looked all over.

Gracias

You are funny LOL :)

Yes, I provided the error & everything that's happening in my first post.

It continues to play for I don't know, an hour or two & then when I get up after sleeping the full night, it's off & there's tons of popups on my screen. I can't even get to the VLC window b/c the popups are preventing that.

I've never had this problem before & I've been using VLC with Flacs for years.

The crash on flac was only in 2.2.0 and early 2.2.1, so this is surprising. please try a 2.2.2 nightly build in 32bits.

Well with the earlier versions I never had that problem, so it was the opposite for me.

I don't understand where I get this new build from. Please tell me where & I can't remember if my computer is 32 or 64 bit.

Thanks

The URL you gave me only goes upto 2.2.0 & if there was a version higher than mine, than VLC should know I need to update & it should tell me there is an update, but it doesn't.

Please can I get someone who knows what's going on here. I know others are trying to help, but clearly what they are saying makes NO sense.

I STILL can't play .FLAC on the most up-to-date version.

Thank you

LOL, so instead of solving the problem you just want to make it out to be that I AM THE PROBLEM.

You are very mature - NOT!

Thanks for all your help! - NOT!
