VLC 2.2.0 making Windows 8.1 slow

Postby ptcman » 15 Apr 2015 23:43

I've installed VLC 2.2.0 on Windows 8.1 and although it plays videos and music fine, when playing video Windows 8.1 becomes slower. Every window I open takes its time, if I try to move a window it moves frame by frame, sometimes the screens flicks and yesterday Windows recovered from some video card driver malfunction while playing a video on VLC.
I have 3 Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 video cards with the latest drivers.

The same thing is happening on my Surface Pro. If VLC is opened, even when not playing a video, Windows becomes slower and the screen also flicks from time to time.

Try a different video output in preferences.
