Can you share logs? Start VLC from the command line and use the option -vvv . Once you have full logs (from starting vlc.exe to finishing video playback), please upload them to either the forum (~60 KB upload limit) or to Pastebin.com . The logs are necessary to understand what exactly is happening with the video decoder. They will also help explain how the playback is different between the versions of VLC, as to where the process went off the rails in 2.2.0 . There is also the possibility of a crappy video driver or CPU (if using integrated graphics). Drivers have an unfortunate tendency to be screwed up during updates, and the logs could indicate a screwed-up driver as well.
If we can simulate real life so accurately, then isn't our reality maybe just one great big simulation as well?
Please don't use PMs for support questions.
