Strange behaviour and crash during playing a stream

Postby Mandula » 15 Mar 2015 20:33

Hi guys.
Today, I was playing a stream on a TV channel in VLC (stream http://212.40.98.162/intstreams/mtva/du ... ylist.m3u8). Sometimes it's playing the stream without problems for 1-2 hours, but that's a rare case. Most of the time it stops, refreshes itself (stream url comes up), changes resolution, lags, goes back some seconds while the video and the sound goes out of sync. I got a crash, too, here is the log:

Code: Select all

Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: vlc.exe Application Version: 2.1.5.0 Application Timestamp: 00000004 Fault Module Name: vlc.exe Fault Module Version: 2.1.5.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 00000004 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00001a8f OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1051 Additional Information 1: 45bd Additional Information 2: 45bdf926c041bfb0e4709bbae75e8697 Additional Information 3: 0215 Additional Information 4: 02158f6dd9d9acaed9cd4a0d16cc5e0b
I'm using VLC 2.1.5 on Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. My CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 (1,8GHz), I have 2 gigs of RAM and I have an AMD Radeon HD6450 1GB graphics card. I have a great and stable internet connection with the speeds 30 Mbit/s download and 3 Mbit/s upload. The PC is great, it has a relatively fresh installation of its OS. I have no problems with the machine.
What should I do?

Thanks,
Mandula

Try 2.2.0
Wow, I checked for updates on 2.1.5 many times, and it always said that it's up to date ... maybe the update check is broken in 2.1.5? Anyway, installed the new update, will test it a few days and I'll post any problems.
