I want to be able to view M4V video files from my browser (Firefox under 64bit Win7) as they download, but unfortunately, VLC's "web plugin" is not an option under Firefox "Applications".
I can paste the URL by hand into VLC Player and play the stream as it downloads, but I'd prefer to just have it work automatically when clicking on it.
In Firefox, I click "Tools | Options", go to the "Applications" tab and find M4V. "Use VLC Media Player" is an option, but not "Web Plugin" and thus doesn't stream. It downloads the entire video prior to playing.
"Use VLC Web Plugin (Firefox)" is an option for a dozen other media formats but not M4V. I looked through VLC's settings and could not find anything to add the option.
Is there a fix? Help. TIA.
